AI Created Book Covers for the Top 10 Project Gutenberg Books

I’ve recently been having fun with using different services to create AI images and in a recent project that took me though the Gutenberg Project, I noted that the covers for some of the top document/books were…well…generic. (I realize that some of these covers are from the original books.)

I thought it would be neat to use AI to create the Book Covers only using the Title and the Author’s name. For this post, I used SUPERMACHINE to generated the images.

I pulled the top 10 titles from the most popular downloaded books.

With each title, I ran each of them through 4-8 different models, grabbed the one I liked best. I then dropped it into an another AI enlarger to increase the resolution and do some inpainting in case the AI generated characters (usually cyrillic-like & latin-like characters) on the image. Lastly, I used an online photo editor to add the title & author to the cover. Overall pretty pasic edits. I really didn't want to modify the images much after generating them.

For each title, I literally copy & pasted the heading from the Gutenberg’s website. In come cases I was unable to turn up anything relevant so I may have added a word or two to narrow it down. Each title includes any changes in search reams & the model that was used

This was a lot of fun, and I hope you enjoy what I’ve done. If you want to see more, or you want me to create an AI generated cover for your book, please let me know on social media
